Jason Varnado, a seasoned coach and hitting instructor, brings a wealth of experience and passion to the diamond. A native of Huntsville, Alabama, Jason graduated from S.R. Butler High School in 2005, where he was a multi-sport athlete, playing baseball, football, and hockey. After high school, Jason began his coaching journey with Post 237 American Legion, working with junior and senior players.

Jason furthered his education at the University of Alabama, earning a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. During this time, he continued to coach, serving as the Assistant Head Coach for Columbia High School's varsity team and Head Junior Varsity Coach from 2011-2013 and again in 2015. Jason also coached the 10u Travel baseball team, the Madison Lions, in 2014, and spent seven years coaching at Buckhorn Middle School, leading both 7th and 8th-grade teams from 2016-2023.

Currently, Jason is dedicated to mentoring young athletes, including his son Peyton, at Fern Bell. As a hitting instructor, Jason focuses on developing the skills and confidence of his players, emphasizing proper technique, mental toughness, and a love for the game. With his extensive coaching experience and passion for teaching, Jason is an ideal instructor for young baseball players looking to improve their hitting skills and take their game to the next level.
